CAM CHAIN PARTS FOR TWIN CAM MODELS

The silent cam chain drive was introduced on the 1999 Twin Cam A model. Most "Silent Chain" parts are also used on the 2000 thru 2006 Twin- Cam B motor. The Roller Chain cam chain drive was introduced on the 2006 Twin Cam powered Dyna. In 2007 all Twin Cam engines as used in FLH/FLT, Dyna's and Softails received the Roller Chain drive. As the Roller Chain drive has many advantages over the Silent Chain, most camshaft suppliers supply camshafts kits to convert Early to Roller Chain drive. These conversion cams are to be installed with OEM or OEM style cam drive roller chain, chain tensioners, cam support and oil pump. Because of this we strongly recommend to check what is installed in your motor before you order. Note: Silent Chain parts originally used on 1999 thru 2006 Touring, 2000 thru 2006 Softail and 1999 thru 2005 Dyna are indicated here as "early, where Roller Chain parts originally used in 2006 Dyna and all 2007 thru 2017 Twin Cam are indicated here as "late".
